Wow, it has been a long time since I have had the time to write a post. Life sure has a way of getting a hold of you and spinning you around. Marla and I have gotten engaged are now planning a wedding as well as trying to figure out what to do with our two houses. These are exciting times indeed.
I wanted to take a moment and tell you about a terrific Mexican restaurant. In fact, I would call it Phoenix’s best Mexican restaurant. I know, I know, that is a bold claim, but there it is.
The Bario Café is located in the heart of Phoenix at 2814 North 16th Street. This unpretentious, but quaint eatery serves traditional Southern Mexican fare. Chef Silvana Salcido Esparza creates her own unique dishes that tantalize the palate with a savory mix of traditional Mexican spices. The food has a light quality about it and is definitely not your standard bean burrito with chips.
The atmosphere is cozy and low key. It feels like you are in someone’s house at a big party. I especially like the cozy little bar, what a great place to wait for your table and have a drink! They have more variety of tequilas that you can count and great margaritas. Also, don’t miss the painting of the Mexican wrestler with his mask on.
The bottom line, if you want to have a great evening and enjoy some delicious and unique Mexican food, then you must try to The Bario Café.
